What The Ladies Want: The Washboard

Abs are one of the hardest body parts to perfect and sculpt. Of course this would be the case because it is typically the body part that women like the best. I mean, when you take off your shirt and a girl sees a shredded stomach, it definitely adds some serious points in your favor.
Now, before you gain those points with the ladies you’re probably going to have to make some serious changes. Unless you do over a thousand sit-ups a day you will not obtain a six-pack without some life-altering modifications. First of all, one of the easiest ways to help make your way to a six-pack is to change your diet. I know this is hard to do because of the fast paced world in which we live, filled with McDonald’s and Taco Bell, but here are some steps to help you become a little more health conscious.
1.) Instead of three BIG meals, eat six smaller meals throughout the course of the day
2.) Really think about what you’re eating (you’re not dumb, eat less junk food)
3.)Â Order it grilled, not fried
4.)Â Balance your diet between carbs and protein, do not overload on one!
Now that you have some eating tips, I think its time that we give you some exercises to do. But, before we do this we are going to split up the workouts for beginners and those for the more advanced.
Beginners:
1.) Basic Crunch
2.) Bicycle Exercise - Basically lie on your back, and pedal your legs as if you are on a bike. Your hands are placed behind your head and you bring your forearm to the opposite leg that is coming to your chest.
3.) Exercise Ball Crunch - For this exercise you need an exercise ball, and you basically sit on the ball and do a basic crunch on the ball. This hits the abs at a differnet angle than a normal crunch so you can do both in the same day.
Advanced:
1.) Hanging Leg Raises- These can be done by hanging from a pull-up bar or from suspension bands that hang from a pull-up bar. You keep your legs striaght and bring them up slowly to your waist and then slowly back down. This exercise is extremely difficult and takes time to perfect, but its one of the most affective ab workouts.
2.) Medicine Toss (with partner) - You are lying on the ground with your feet slightly off the ground. Your partner will throw a medicine ball (use an appropriate weight) to you. He or she will stand on the side of you and you will catch the ball infront of your stomach and will continue with it until it’s slightly off the floor. Before the ball hits the floor, you will rotate your core in order to toss the ball back to your partner.
Finally you cannot perfect your core without doing some sort of cardio. It can be as simple as riding the bike or taking a short run. Something to just boost your heart-rate and get your body moving. The six-pack won’t come over night, but you will see progessive and immediate change in your core.
Guys, ladies can argue with a douchebag, but they can’t argue with a six-pack.
